Dr. James H. Johnson
Medical Director
Dr. Johnson is a native of Orange County and was an All-American swimmer in high-school and college. He graduated locally at UC Irvine with a B.S. in Biology. He was awarded an Armed Forces Scholarship to attend Dartmouth Medical School for the 2-year Pre-Clinical Sciences Program. He then transferred with 20 other pre-selected students to the Brown Program in Medicine in Providence, RI. After Graduation with his medical degree, he traveled to Madigan Army Medical Center (Tacoma, WA) to complete his combined Medical and Surgical Internship. His military obligation was then served for four years in Germany as a Brigade Surgeon for the 3rd Infantry Division. His additional responsibilities included clinical duties and urgent care for soldiers and their dependents, as well as being clinic commander for a moderate-sized community medical clinic in beautiful Schweinfurt, Germany. Upon return to the States, Dr. Johnson attended the highly-respected Eye Foundation of Kansas City (Missouri) for his three year residency and surgical training in ophthalmology. This training was surgically intensive and included laser refractive surgery evaluation, treatment, and management.

Dr. Johnson has performed thousands of refractive surgery procedures since 1997 to include PRK, LASIK, LASEK, INTRALASIK, and LENS IMPLANT SURGERIES. He is certified on the VISX S4 IR Custom Vue Excimer Laser, the Wavelight Allegretto Excimer Laser, and the Intralase FS Laser platforms. He is also certified by Allergan for BOTOX COSMETIC injections.
